Summary

Professor Trevor Hoey took up the new role of Pro Vice-Chancellor International & Sustainability in October 2022. He has been Vice-Provost (International and Academic Partnerships), and Professor of River Science, at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ in September 2019. Previously he was at the University of Glasgow as Professor of Numerical Geoscience and Dean of the University of Glasgow Singapore.

With a background in environmental research, Trevor is well placed to lead for the University on sustainability. He has advised government agencies in Scotland, delivered training to government, industry and NGO staff, and has contributed to policy papers in the UK, China and the Philippines.

Trevor has worked internationally throughout his career, starting as a Commonwealth Scholar in New Zealand. He has researched collaboratively with colleagues in Europe, East and South-East Asia and North America, and has led field research projects in Greenland, China, Philippines and Indonesia in recent years. He has taught on a transnational education programme in China, and has extensive experience of developing and maintaining international partnerships, and of international student recruitment.
