Research supervision
Kate would welcome research students working on gender/sexuality in world literature, Caribbean and/or postcolonial writing - please do feel free to contact me directly to discuss your ideas.
Kate is currently on the supervisory team for a range of PhDs, including a literature project analysing Kamila Shamsie's work; and two creative writing projects on the expression of damaged mothering, and representations of trauma in South Asian fiction. In 2023/4, she also hosts a visiting PhD project under Brazil's Doutorado Sanduíche on the gothic short story.
2016-2021: Kate was first supervisor at Anglia Ruskin University of a successful PhD project (part-time) on ‘Vincentian Literature in the Era of Independence 1940-1980'.
