Research area(s)

  • Turbomachinery aerodynamics and aeromechanics
  • Gas Turbines and micro gas turbines
  • Supercritical carbon dioxide cycles: thermal power cycles, turbines and compressors
  • Heat pumps: turbo compressors for high temperature heat pumps
  • Thermal energy storage

Research Interests

My research interests focus around the development of novel concepts in trubomachinery designs and thermal power cycles for a wide range of temperatures including: low temperature waste heat recovery using organic Rankine Cycles, waste heat upgrade using heat pumps,  intermediate tempperatures waste heat recovery and power generation using supercrticial carbon dioxide cycles, to high temperature power generation using Brayton cycles for micro gas turbines and gas turbines. I am also interested in the development of novel technologies for thermal energy storage using phase change materilas for low, high and ultraphigh temperatures.
