Brunel Design School placement year

All our undergraduate courses can be studied full-time over three years, or four years with a placement year. We encourage the placement year option. This time in industry helps further prepare for the world of work and means our students have a year’s worth of invaluable professional experience when they graduate.

Brunel’s location close to central London, the heart of the UK’s design and digital media industries, means that there are a variety of placements available.

Find and apply for a placement

A dedicated placement tutor from Brunel’s Professional Development Centre will work with you to help you secure a placement that is right for you. You will be given training on CV writing, how to complete an application form, and how to perfect your interview skills.

Our design students have worked in small innovation start-ups as well as multinational organisations such as Adidas, Chanel, Jaguar Land Rover, Philips, Disney and Lego. Digital media students take up placements at animation and visual effects studios, with gaming developers and digital brand designers.

Master’s students are encouraged to make use of our good links with industrial colleagues and undertake an optional industrial placement as part of their dissertation project over the summer.
