Details of the Charity:

The Scout Association aims to equip young people with skills for life, helping them reach their full potential. It offers opportunities for young people to embark on new adventures, explore the outdoors, and participate in a variety of creative, community, and international activities. Along the way, they interact with others, make new friends, and build confidence.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will contribute to the Executive Committee's strategic direction in order to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to the Group. As an Executive Committee Trustee, you have the opportunity to be part of the decision-making process within the scout's group contributing and influencing hugely the future of the organisation.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting the board on the decision-making processes.
  • Participating in board development activities including recruitment, orientation, and training of new board members.
  • Reviewing and approving budgets, financial reports, and monitoring the organisation's financial health.
  • Participating in fundraising efforts and advocate for the organisation.

Please note, this organisation requires a DBS check and a minimum commitment of 12 months, with attendance at six board meetings per year.
