Professor George Ghinea's paper, “,” was selected as the runner-up for the 2021 Best Paper Award from the prestigious IEEE MultiMedia by the IEEE Computer Society Publications Board.
The paper, written in collaboration with researchers from the Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil, proposes the novel use of Deep Neural Networks to indicate moments of sensory effects activation in mulsemedia content, which were then integrated into STEVE 2.0, a proof-of-concept mulsemedia authoring tool.
